Charted glossary

Orb

An orb is the deviation from the exact angle of an aspect. For example, a 63 degree separation is 3 degrees from an exact 60 degree sextile.

Allowed orb tolerances vary and are not universal. Orb describes closeness to an exact angle without establishing scientifically proven strength.

How Charted interprets it

Charted uses orb to give context for how close an aspect is to its exact angle. It is a way to describe that geometric closeness without treating it as a guarantee of greater effect.
